I feel like the only thing I ever blog about now is Emmy. (and it’s true…lol) But that little shit is my world right now. It seems like all I ever do is take her outside to go the bathroom, bathe her, play with her, etc etc. She’s such a handful…
But I think it’s time to blog about something new! haha I watched a really good movie on Netflix last night called Legendary. It’s an independent film, so there wasn’t really any major actors in it (no one I recognized anyway) But it was an awesome movie. I would recommend it for sure, 4 out of 5 stars easily. It’s about a kid who joins the high school wrestling team and finds his long lost brother who used to a wrestling champ to help him train.
Oh, and one thing I’ve been wondering about….I want to a buy a new book light for my Kindle Touch. I have one currently, but it is really cheap and really hard to use for reading because the light is really bright in one spot then dim around it, so you can’t really position it well to read the whole screen. Basically, it was cheap and it sucks. So….does anyone recommend any good brands of book lights? I’m scared to buy one because I think it might just be a waste of money if it ends up being just as bad as the one I have now. Please give me some suggestions. I was looking at the covers for the Kindle Touch that have a reading light attached, seems pretty nice, but I think they are really expensive, like $60 if I’m remembering correctly? I guess I could try one, but again, I’m scared the light will be just as shitty. I’m not worried about spending the money, just as long as I know it will actually work well!
And, uh, my boyfriend should be home from work any minute so I think I’m done here
:]
Today was Emmy’s first visit to the vet! Of course, she acted like a little shit and squirmed and nipped at everyone the whole time, haha. But I guess she acted pretty well considering she is a 3 1/2 month old puppy. She REALLY hated the rectal thermometer! She also didn’t like getting her nails clipped very much, but that was easily solved by giving her a treat to occupy her for 2.5 seconds so it could get done.
We learned a lot of important things about training her, so hopefully she will be much closer to potty training completion. We set up an appointment for a month from now to take care of follow-up shots, getting her chip inserted (in case she gets lost), and most importantly…getting spayed
The vet told us that more than likely she will be completely potty trained by then (if we follow the training regime of course…which we plan on doing…
; ). We are supposed to keep her in her crate at all times. Apparently that is the key. Only take her out to eat, drink, pee, and play for a short period. It feels cruel at times, especially when she whines, but it will only (hopefully) last for about a month and then we should be able to trust her to roam around the house.
I am very excited for her to get this hurdle over with. Also, I can’t wait for winter to be over with so we can take her to the park without shivering our asses off (and her poor little ass too
)…we really need to get her a sweater. :P
